new · pilot season 2026

End the pool sunbed war.
A fair deck by breakfast.

Drop a pin. Own the sun.

Lounger management for hotels, resorts and cruise decks. Guests claim a lounger from their phone, arrive within a window the property sets, and confirm at the lounger itself. Nobody arrives, it goes back to everyone. The same rule for every guest, so the pool team stops arbitrating towels and the front desk stops taking the complaint.

SunDibs is a patent-pending lounger management platform for hotel pools, resorts and beach clubs.

Tap an open lounger to claim it, tap it again to confirm your arrival. Green is open, amber is claimed and waiting for arrival, a tick is a guest who confirmed at the lounger, red is held by someone else.

01 · what it costs today

The towel rule is an operating cost, not a guest habit.

short answer
A deck held by towels is claimed at six and used at eleven. The property pays for loungers nobody is lying on, the pool team spends the morning arbitrating furniture, and the complaints land at the front desk rather than on the deck where they started.

The cost shows up in three places. Capacity, because a lounger held by a towel cannot be sold or given to another guest. Labour, because someone has to walk the deck, judge which claims are real and have the conversation that follows. Reputation, because the guest who missed out and the guest who felt policed both blame the property rather than each other.

A sign, a policy or a printed deck plan does not change any of that, because none of them can tell whether the guest ever arrived.

02 · what changes

A claim that expires without anyone deciding.

short answer
A lounger is claimed from a phone, held for a window the property sets, and confirmed at the lounger itself. If nobody confirms, the claim is released automatically and the lounger goes back into the pool of available beds.

Confirmation is what makes it credible. On Easy the guest scans the label on the frame, on Pro they tap the marker mounted on the lounger. Either way the system has evidence that someone reached that specific lounger, which is the one thing a towel can never provide.

Every claim, confirmation and release is recorded against a lounger and a stay, so the deck has a record instead of a memory. SunDibs is a patent-pending lounger management platform for hotel pools, resorts and beach clubs. Guests claim a lounger, confirm at the lounger within a set window, and unconfirmed beds return to everyone.

03 · where the money is

A deck that can be sold, not just policed.

short answer
Once a claim is real, the deck becomes sellable inventory. Premium zones, shift pricing and loyalty tiers are all set by the property, and SunDibs takes no share of what any of them earn.

Premium zones

First row, cabana side or quiet end can carry their own price per lounger, set by the property and changed by season.

Shift pricing

Morning and afternoon can be priced separately, so a deck that empties after lunch can be sold twice in a day.

Loyalty and complimentary tiers

Suite guests, members or a named segment can be given a rate, priority or free access without staff having to remember who is entitled to what.

Charges on the folio

Anything sold on the deck posts to the room bill through the property management system, so nothing is collected twice and nothing is chased poolside.

There is no per-booking fee and no per-guest fee. The property pays a licence per lounger and keeps what the deck earns, less the card fees charged by its own payment provider.

04 · guest preview

What the guest side looks like.

short answer
The guest side is a mobile web page reached from a QR code on the room card or at the pool. There is no app to install and no account to create, and the property can run the same actions from the console for any guest who would rather not use a phone.

The demo is the guest view, in guest language, on a sample deck. It is the only place on this site written to the guest rather than to the property.

05 · how it works

Two processes. One pool.

Easy gets you live today with a photo and some labels. Pro adds solar markers when you want the map to run itself. Either way, the day looks like this.

1 · for the pool team · easy

Run the deck from one screen.

  1. step 01

    Open the deck

The morning crew resets the furniture to the saved layout and opens the pool on the tablet. That is the whole opening routine, no towels to collect and no signs to write.

  2. step 02

Watch the board, not the beds

One screen shows what is open, who is on their way, who has tapped in and what melted back. Nobody patrols the deck to work out which lounger is genuinely in use.

  3. step 03

Answer the hands that go up

Towel and drink requests queue up with the lounger number attached, yellow when they land, orange past your response target, red beyond it, green once delivered.

2 · for the guest · easy

Three moments, always.

  1. step 01

    Drop a pin

The guest opens the SunDibs link from the room card or the QR at the pool and picks a lounger. The number on screen matches the number on the frame.

  2. step 02

    Arrive within the window

The guest comes down any time inside the arrival window the property sets. Miss it and the claim is released back to the deck.

  3. step 03

    Scan the label

The guest finds the lounger by its number and scans the label on the frame. The claim is confirmed and any charge posts to the room folio.

the technology · easy

Four pieces. A photo, a label, a browser, a tap.

Nothing ships, nothing gets wired, nothing needs procurement. Your deck manager can do the whole thing in an afternoon.

01the map

An overhead photo, one dot per lounger.

The system numbers them and works out who is adjacent to whom from the geometry. It is saved as a named layout, and the morning crew resets to it each opening.

02the label

A weatherproof vinyl label on each frame.

Large human-readable number and a QR code. Arrival confirmation happens when the guest scans it at their bed. The label is also the instruction to staff: number 14 goes back where the label says.

03the dashboard

One cloud service, no app install.

The staff dashboard runs on any tablet. Guests pin from their phone with no app install. Everything reconciles through the hotel wifi, so Easy needs a working internet connection.

04the hand-raise

Towel and drink requests land on the staff screen.

From the same screen the guest used to drop a pin, a tap asks for towels or sends a drink order. It arrives on the staff tablet as a queue with the lounger number attached, so nobody waves an arm and nobody guesses which bed it came from.

towels & drinks · easy

Raise a hand without raising your voice.

The guest taps towels or a drink on the same screen they pinned from. Staff see every open request on the tablet, newest first, with the lounger number already attached.

on the lounger

Two taps, no waving.

Same screen, same pin, no app install and no walking to the bar.

on the staff tablet

One queue, in order.

just arrivedpast the 5 min targetrunning latedelivered

Requests land yellow, turn orange once they pass the response time you set (five minutes by default) and red beyond it. A tap marks it delivered, and it stays in the day's trail in green so you can see how the team did.

06 · two flavours

Same day at the pool. Two ways to run it.

Easy is a photo of your deck, numbered labels on the frames and a browser. Pro adds a solar marker on every lounger and a small box at the poolside. The rules a guest experiences are identical, what changes is how much the pool has to think about.

Easy is open to a limited number of founding design partners for the first season, so places are capped and taken one property at a time. Pro is patent pending and has no launch date.

first · what the guest gets

What changes for someone lying in the sun.

Everything a guest needs is in Easy. Pro removes the last bits of friction: no camera to scan, adjacency that survives the furniture being dragged around, shade that can be sold, and a pool that keeps working when the wifi doesn't.

07 · what makes it different

Three things the competition genuinely can't do.

01
Pro only

Loungers that know their neighbours

The markers measure each other over Bluetooth and redraw the adjacency map themselves. So 'four loungers together' still means together after the furniture has been moved.

02
Pro only

Shade that can be sold in advance

The solar panels double as light sensors. Over a few days the system learns your pool's shade pattern and can hold a spot that will be shaded at 3pm, even if it's in full sun when you book. Until those readings are in, shade is shown as a modelled estimate and labelled that way. Shade and sun mapping is a Pro feature.

03
Easy and Pro

No cameras. No microphones. No identity.

SunDibs tracks claims, furniture and usage, not identity. On Pro, a marker senses when its lounger is moved or used so the map stays accurate, but nothing on the deck knows who is there.

08 · for hotels

Fewer complaints at the front desk. More sun for more guests.

Your team stops policing towels and starts running a fair pool. The dashboard shows what's pinned, what's confirmed, and what melted back, nothing more, nothing less.

  • →No more 6am towels. Publish opening time, done.
  • →Groups sit together. Adjacency is live, not a stale plan.
  • →Works when the wifi dies. Local gateway takes over, reconciles later.

09 · the upgrade path

Start Easy. Add Pro when you want the map to look after itself.

Most venues run Easy for a season and upgrade to Pro for the second. The map you drew in Easy becomes the starting template for the Pro marker calibration, so nothing is lost.

10 · questions

Answers to the questions people actually ask.

Every answer here is the real answer, up top, in plain prose. Detail follows.

What is the sunbed war?

short answer
The sunbed war is the daily contest for pool loungers at hotels, resorts and cruise ships, where guests reserve sunbeds with towels at dawn (the dawn dash) and leave them empty for hours, so latecomers find a full deck of empty loungers.

It is also called the towel war. SunDibs ends it by making every claim explicit and time limited: a guest claims a lounger from a phone, confirms at the lounger within a window the property sets, and an unconfirmed lounger goes back to everyone automatically.

How does a property stop guests reserving sunbeds with towels?

short answer
By making the claim explicit and time limited. A guest claims a lounger from their phone, has a window set by the property to arrive, and confirms at the lounger itself. Nobody arrives, the lounger is released automatically, so a towel holds nothing.

That removes both reasons the pool sunbed wars exist. A guest no longer has to be physically present to hold a lounger, and staff no longer have to argue with anyone about a towel. The window is enforced by the system rather than by a member of the team.

What does the pool team actually have to do differently?

short answer
They work from a console instead of walking the deck. It shows what is claimed, what is confirmed and what has been released, plus towel and bar requests with the lounger number already attached.

Front desk training is short because the view carries three numbers. Staff can also claim, confirm or release any lounger on behalf of a guest who does not want to use a phone.

Where is the revenue in this for the property?

short answer
Premium zones can carry their own price, mornings and afternoons can be priced separately, loyalty tiers can be given their own rate or complimentary access, and charges post to the room folio.

SunDibs takes no share of what the deck earns and charges no per-booking or per-guest fee. Releasing unclaimed loungers also puts the same deck in front of more paying guests on a busy day.

Does SunDibs watch or identify guests?

short answer
No. There are no cameras, microphones or pressure pads, and nothing on the deck identifies a person. SunDibs tracks claims, furniture and usage, not identity. On Pro venues with markers, each marker senses when its lounger is moved or used so the deck map stays accurate, but it records no personal data and is not used to monitor who sits where.

That is architectural rather than a policy setting, so there is nothing to switch off and nothing for a guest to opt out of, and no camera that a later software update could turn on.

How does a group get loungers next to each other?

short answer
Loungers are claimed as a set. On Pro the markers measure each other over Bluetooth, so adjacency reflects where the furniture is now rather than where a floor plan says it was.

On Easy, adjacency comes from the layout drawn on the overhead photo, which the crew resets to each morning. Both give a group a set together, Pro simply removes the dependency on that reset.

Can a property sell shaded loungers?

short answer
On Pro, once the deck has its own light readings. The solar panel on each marker doubles as a light sensor, so the system learns the shade pattern hour by hour and loungers can be sold by when they will be shaded.

Before those readings exist, the shade view is shown as a modelled estimate and labelled as such rather than presented as measured. Shade and sun mapping is a Pro feature.

What does a sunbed reservation system cost a hotel?

short answer
SunDibs is a licence per lounger, billed once before the season opens, with no per-guest and no per-booking fees. Easy is software only: €36 per lounger per season for a boutique deck, €24 for a larger resort. Pro is twice the Easy rate (€72 and €48) and that rate covers the markers and the offline gateway, on a 24 month minimum term.

A 200-lounger deck on Easy is €4800 for the season in one invoice, and it does not shrink on a short Mediterranean season. The same deck on Pro is €9600, which covers the markers and the offline gateway with no separate hardware invoice. Year-round properties and ships buy the same licence annually at the same rate, and custom pricing is available for hotel groups and cruise lines.

Is this fair to guests who will not use an app?

short answer
Yes, because the desk and the pool team can claim, confirm and release loungers on a guest's behalf, under exactly the same rules. The guest side is a mobile web page with no install and no account.

A property that wants to keep a proportion of the deck unbookable and first come can do that, and the same arrival and release rules apply to whatever is opened for claiming.

SunDibs is in its first pilot season. Where this page gives a number, it is either sourced or labelled as a target.
